Reece James praise Chelsea star as the strongest player in the team

Reece James has named two of the strongest players in the Chelsea squad, including one member of the ranks you perhaps would not expect.

Despite their position in the Premier League table, there is absolutely no question that Mauricio Pochettino has a star-studded squad at his disposal. If everything clicks for the Blues, Chelsea have the talent to elevate themselves into the title picture in the future.

Reece James is one of those who has an incredible amount of ability. The 24-year-old skipper has been desperately unlucky with injuries over the last few years. But there is no doubt at all over how good he can be.

Reece James names the strongest players in the Chelsea squad

James was asked on the Premier League YouTube channel to name the three strongest players in the Chelsea squad in a quick fire Q&A.

The right-back initially named himself three times, before suggesting that Axel Disasi and Robert Sanchez as the two standouts.

“Axel’s very strong as well. To be fair, Rob is also strong. You probably don’t get to see it, but he’s strong,” he said.

Entire Blues squad has point to prove

It has been an underwhelming start to life at Stamford Bridge for Robert Sanchez. The 26-year-old had done well with Brighton. However, he was not the undisputed number one with the Seagulls last season.

And he has only kept three clean sheets in 16 Premier League games so far. Meanwhile, Djordje Petrovic has produced a few impressive displays since the Spain international has been ruled out with a knee injury.

Axel Disasi meanwhile, recently produced arguably his best performance for Chelsea in the recent win over Aston Villa – as did several others.

There is a long way to go for Chelsea. But there have been some more encouraging signs for the club over the last couple of games.

And, as James’ comments prove, there is strength all over the pitch
