Chelsea star player in tears during CFC awards 2024 ceremony

One Chelsea player was clearly emotional during last night’s award ceremony dedicated to the club’s season.

The Blues were dressed to impress as they looked to celebrate their achievements so far in this campaign, despite the fact there are still three Premier League games to go.

It does look as if they need to do a bit more if Mauricio Pochettino is going to keep his job, with Europa League the reported minimum requirement from the owners.

It was certainly fair to honour a number of the individual displays from this season though, with Cole Palmer getting his fair share of credit.

He was awarded both top player of the season awards, following in the footsteps of Eden Hazard from before him.

Another player who was being showered in praise was Thiago Silva, who is approaching his final few games for the club in the coming weeks.

His impact on the current first team has been clear to see. Blues teammate Conor Gallagher described him as ‘massive’.

There will no doubt be a optimism to finish the season and his Chelsea career on a high, before he moves aside for the next generation of top defenders to take over.

Pressure on Levi Colwill to replace Silva

Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have been tipped to become the future of the club at the back, with support from the likes of Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi who look set to remain this summer.

It has already been claimed that there are plans for Silva to captain the side for the final game of the season, whilst discussions are ongoing over another banner being unveiled by the club after the success of the recent one for Conor Gallagher against London rivals Tottenham.
