Premier League giants Chelsea are open to move for 200-per-week star before the Turkish league deadline.
The Blues are not content with mass departures this summer. The club has already managed to get some big names and big wage bills out of the squad, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
Chelsea star Ben Chilwell has been asked to leave Stamford Bridge soon and is set for a loan move to Turkey, reports The Telegraph.
If, as the report claims, the left-back rejects the move and decides to stay at Stamford Bridge, he will face at least four months in the football wilderness. Despite being barred from the training area and first-team facilities, Chilwell was unable to leave Chelsea before the close of the English transfer window, and now the Saudi Arabian window has also closed.
However, the Turkish transfer window is still open, with Chelsea ready to acquire him on loan, making him the player's only hope of securing a move to football between now and January.
It would be in Chelsea's best interest to sell Chilwell, who earns around £200,000 a week, but securing a permanent deal for the Englishman at this stage of the transfer window would be difficult.
The Turkish transfer window is open until September 18th. As The Telegraph revealed, a temporary transfer could be agreed during this period, but no offers have yet been made for Chilwell. As for Chilwell, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca made it clear that he has no chance of returning to the first team unless he leaves the club this month.
Nevertheless, Chilwell will continue to train away from the first team until a move from Stamford Bridge is confirmed, even if the transfer is not secured. Furthermore, he will not play professional football for Chelsea until the transfer window opens in January.
According to multiple reports, Maresca claims that Chilwell is not his type of player and does not suit his playing style. For him, Marc Cucurella is a more ideal player in this position. The Spain star has started every one of Chelsea's games this season.
