Super Falcons in hostage at Abuja Airport (Video)

Super Falcons and official were held in hostage at Abuja airport after their 1-0 over Cote D’Ivoire women in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier in Abidjan.

Apparently exhausted after a tough match in Abidjan where the Super Falcons beat their host, the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire by a lone goal to progress to Morocco 2022, Super Falcons star Uchenna Kanu was reduced to tears at the Abuja Airport early Thursday morning.

Just like the rest of her teammates, Kanu was delayed at the airport for almost four hours on arrival in Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.

According to the reports that the players and officials of the Super Falcons departed Abidjan just few hours after the match and landed at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport in Abuja armed with their Covid test results done less than 24 hours ago.

However, they were held hostage by officials of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, who insisted that all players and officials must undergo another round of routine tests and pay a certain amount of money before they will be allowed to leave the airport.
