Ousmane Dembele to Chelsea has been trending since Thursday early morning on social media, as they reportedly says the French international has completed his move to Chelsea.
Chelsea have been handed a boost ahead of their summer transfer plans. It had been almost presumed that Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele would be joining Kylian Mbappe in Paris ahead of next season, but that may no longer be the case.
The change in the recruitment department at Paris Saint-Germain, which sees Leonardo leave the Sporting Director role and Portuguese guru Luis Campos, has had an impact on the winger’s future. According to Le Parisien, Campos has decided against the signing of Dembele. Get French Football News carried the story, explaining that Dembele’s injury record and supposed poor attitude have put him off Dembele.

Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona and manager Xavi Hernandez has been doing what he can to keep him, but the financial situation at Camp Nou is scuppering their chances. Barcelona are unable to compete with the likes of Chelsea and PSG in terms of a salary offer for Dembele.
For arguably the first time since arriving five years ago, Barcelona have seen the potential come good on the pitch. Under Xavi, Dembele has become the leading assist provider in La Liga despite playing barely half the minutes of his nearest competitors.
Thomas Tuchel, who was Dembele’s manager at Borussia Dortmund, may well be able to persuade him that Chelsea is the place where he can start fresh after a tricky spell in Catalonia.
With reports claiming that Chelsea could be close to making Dembele their first signing under the Todd Boehly era, then we will be having a look at the possible shirt number that the winger could wear at Chelsea, if he completes the transfer to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Dembele is unlikely to get his preferred shirt number at Chelsea this summer, as he currently wears the number 7 shirt for Barcelona, which is occupied by N’Golo Kante.
He would have to take a look at other Important squad number to pick from, which includes the following.
The Number 17
The number 17 shirt number is one that could be available for Ousmane Dembele to wear at Chelsea, as it is currently occupied by on loan player Niguez Saul, who will be returning back to Atletico Madrid this summer, after the expiration of his loan spell.
The number 17 could be the closest to Dembele’s current number 7 shirt that he wears for Barcelona, as it still has the number 7 number.
The Number 18
Number 18 shirt number is currently held by Ross Barkley at Chelsea, but the midfieder is expected to look for a new club this summer, which makes the number 18 available for Ousmane Dembele.
The Number 23
Number 23 is one that Ousmane Dembele has previously wore earlier in his career, and it could be available this summer for him to pick.
Although, the shirt number is currently occupied by Chelsea winger Kenedy, but the Brazilian future doesn’t seem to be certain at the club beyond this summer, which could make the number 23 shirt available for Dembele to pick.
There are other numbers which Ousmane Dembele will wear at Chelsea, but these three shirt number will be available for him to choose his choice.
