Good news from Stamford Bridge ahead of Chelsea next premier league game

Reports have claimed that Chelsea may have Mason Mount back from injury a lot sooner than they may have originally thought.

According to The Sun, the England international is targeting a return against Manchester United in the Premier League next week.

It has been a disrupted campaign for Mount, with numerous injury problems not allowing him regular time on the pitch.

He recently underwent surgery to fix an ongoing issue which has seen him hardly available in the last couple of months.

Fitness issues have almost certainly had an effect on his output this year. After reaching double digits for both goals and assists last season in the Premier League, he has just five combined this time out.

This has no doubt been a contributing factor to the dire season the Blues have been subject to this season, with their ‘terrific’ player severely underperforming this time around.

It has now been claimed though that he is pushing to return to the pitch before the end of the season, with the fixture at Old Trafford the one mentioned where he may make his comeback.

While he may not yet have played his last game in a Chelsea shirt, reports have claimed it is still likely that he leaves the club at the end of the season.

It seems as if there is still a large disparity between the club and player over a potential new contract.

This is all despite reports that Mauricio Pochettino is an admirer of the 24-year-old, and would love the club to sort out his contract situation before he takes over at Stamford Bridge.

Mount’s energy is perfect for exactly what the Argentine wants from his players, and seems as if he would be perfect for him if he stayed at the club.
