The London club will now return to the UK and continue preparations ahead of their season opener against Liverpool.
Mason Burstow’s brilliantly headed goal gave the English side a deserved equaliser against the German side to maintain their unbeaten run of matches in the tour.
As impressive as the performance from Chelsea was today, there are some decisions I believe Mauricio Pochettino got wrong today.
Wrong Poch Decisions
1. Starting Raheem Sterling & giving him 80 minutes of action
The one Chelsea that has failed to impress fans in this pre-season is Raheem Sterling and Pochettino’s decision to start him against Dortmund did not help matter.
As if that wasn’t enough, the manager gave him 80 minutes of action and he failed to impress again.
2. Not giving Madueke his first pre-season minutes
With Sterling have a poor game, Noni Madueke should’ve gotten his first minutes of the tour after he returned to training days ago.
Even though he probably couldn’t have started the match, he most certainly would’ve been able to get at lest 20 minutes.
3. Not giving Lesley Ugochukwu a chance
New signing, Lesley Ugochukwu was an unused substitute for Pochettino claimed it was undecided whether or not the youngster will go out on loan or not.
This match would’ve been the perfect opportunity to see what the player can do against a formidable opponent like Borussia Dortmund.
