Three Chelsea players with excellent performance tonight

It’s the 75th minute in Chelsea’s game against Brighton in the EFL Cup, and that can mean only one thing – substitutions.

Three Chelsea players with excellent performance tonight

The Blues and the Seagulls have both made a few changes, and it was very interesting to read the Stamford Bridge reaction to each of them.

They’ve been nervy every time that Robert Sanchez has the ball, and there are a few outfield players giving them serious worries – not least Lesley Ugochukwu.

But one midfielder came on to a great ovation – strangely, it was a Brighton player. Billy Gilmour used to be at Chelsea of course, and the fact that he got so unfairly treated by the club, and the fact that he was so good when he did get a chance, meant that the fans will always love him here.

From the Chelsea crop, it was great to see Cole Palmer get a well deserved round of appreciation after a first start and a first assist – and a great performance.

Mykhailo Mudryk has frustrated fans mightily since arriving in January, but they were happy to give him a big clap after he came off today, following some positive work both on and off the ball.

We reckon Nico Jackson will get some serious love too, if he’s removed.
