You’ve spent your £1bn on average players – Agbonlahor names 2 top stars Chelsea should’ve signed

Former Crystal Aston Villa striker, Gabby Agbonlahor, has expressed surprise that Chelsea did not use a quarter of the over £1 billion they spent on ‘average’ players to sign Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe.

According to him, those in charge of the Blues should have broken the bank to sign Mbappe or Kane this summer.

The Blues spent £434.5million over the summer, taking their total expenses in three transfer windows to over £1billion

Despite this, the west London side has only managed to pick up just four points from four games so far.

They were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

“They’ve spent £1billion. Why didn’t Chelsea use a quarter of that money and go out and buy a star?” he said on talkSPORT.

“Go and give Paris Saint-Germain an offer for Mbappe that they can’t refuse.

“Harry Kane, ‘there you go, Daniel Levy. Whatever you want’. £150 million for Harry Kane and you’ve got two superstars.
