Do remember that the West London club were very much active during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of several players including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Jackson and Axel Disasi.

However, Chelsea football club want an out-an-out striker next year and are currently on the lookout for transfer options ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.


And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea football club have set their sights on signing highly-rated Feyenoord centre-forward Santiago Gimenez when the transfer window opens.

 

The 22-year-old Mexico International, who signed up for Feyenoord after departing Cruz Azul back in 2022 has been an important member of the first-team squad since he made the move last year.

The highly-rated striker was hugely influential for Feyenoord during the 2022/2023 season where he scored 28 goals and created three assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.

Santiago Gimenez has also enjoyed an interesting start to the ongoing 2023/2024 season, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 15 appearances in all competitions.

His excellent performances in front of goal is believed to have caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, but according to latest reports from The Sun, Chelsea football club are making moves to hijack a deal to sign Santiago Gimenez.

 

The reports further claimed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is impressed with the performances of Santiago Gimenez and he has recently told the club to hijack a move for the young striker when the window opens in January.

Tottenham Hotspur have been leading the race to sign Santiago Gimenez for £35million from Feyenoord but now, Chelsea football club will now move to hijack the deal when the transfer window opens next year.

If signed, the highly-rated Santiago Gimenez will now join up with a Chelsea squad that already possess the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Christopher Nkunku in that attack line.
