Reports: £35m Chelsea star is not for sale despite January links

Journalist Fraser Fletcher has now claimed that there is no way that Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile is for sale right now.

He took to Twitter to state that the Frenchman is actually seen as an important member of the club, and interest in him is mere speculation.

Reports in recent weeks stated that Badiashile was being considered for a move to Italy, with it perhaps being on loan to AC Milan.

The defender only joined the club in January for a fee of £35m, however has seen a large portion of that time on the sidelines due to an injury.

He suffered an issue in training back in May that would see him not make an appearance in the Premier League until late in November.

He made his first start of the campaign against Newcastle at the weekend, although the performance of the Blues failed to live up to the standards set in recent weeks.

They were heavily beaten by Newcastle, with Badiashile unable to contain his frustrations at one of his teammates during the game.

Despite the reports that there is interest in his services, Fletcher has claimed that he is simply not going to be on the move anytime soon.

He said: “Benoît Badiashile was never for sale, not sure where the talk came from. Chelsea view him as a top talent.”

There is a bright future at the back for the Blues, with it surely not long before we see the partnership of Badiashile and Levi Colwill at the back.

The England international has not been fit to start the last two games, which have been ones where they have conceded eight goals across.

With suspensions coming in both full-back roles, it is the perfect time for Colwill to return to the starting side.
