Chelsea keen to offload midfielder in January

Chelsea football club will most definitely remain keen on overhauling their currently squad under manager Mauricio Pochettino when the January transfer window opens.

The West London club were very much active during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of several players including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

However, that has not quite worked out for Chelsea football club so far as they are currently occupying the 10th position on the Premier League table after playing 19 matches.

As a result of their poor form, Chelsea football club remain keen on offloading some fringe players and if reports are anything to go by, then young midfielder Conor Gallagher could be on his way out of the club.

The 23-year-old England International, who gained promotion to the Chelsea first-team squad back in 2022 has been an important member of the team so far.

The young central midfielder was hugely involved for Chelsea football club during the 2022/2023 season where he scored three goals and created four assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.

Conor Gallagher has also been quite involved for Chelsea football club so far this ongoing 2023/2024 football season, recording four assists in the 22 matches he has played.

But following the return of Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka from injuries, reports from The Sun has said that the Blues are willing to offload Conor Gallagher next year.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are willing to trim down their current squad when the transfer window opens and the Blues have added Conor Gallagher to the last of players leaving the club.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to add more quality to his first-team squad next year and he is very much aware of the need to offload players in order to sign new ones.

And with Conor Gallagher on the list of players departing Chelsea football club in January, it remains to be seen where the young central midfielder will choose to continue his football career.
