Chelsea set to sell £39m star player to fund January transfer

Chelsea is reportedly contemplating offloading French international defender Axel Disasi when the January transfer window opens, a mere few months after his £39 million move to the club during the summer.

Chelsea set to sell £39m star player to fund January transfer

According to a report from TeamTalk, Chelsea is aiming to trim its squad and raise funds in January to comply with Premier League spending rules and accommodate new signings.

Mauricio Pochettino's call for reinforcements has put pressure on Chelsea to optimize its squad composition.

Despite Disasi's promising profile, the 25-year-old has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.

Chelsea's recent spending spree, exceeding £1 billion over the last three transfer windows, necessitates financial prudence.

While Disasi is yet to establish himself in the Premier League, the former Monaco defender is highly regarded across Europe. If made available, he is expected to attract interest from several clubs due to his physical and technical attributes.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson has escaped any disciplinary action from the Football Association (FA) after his post-match altercation with Everton's players on Sunday.

In another defeat for Mauricio Pochettino's side at Goodison Park, Sean Dyche's team secured a 2-0 victory, leaving the Blues in 12th place in the Premier League standings.

The frustration became evident as Jackson found it challenging to contain his emotions after the match.

The exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear, but immediately after the final whistle, the Chelsea striker was involved in a physical altercation with Everton's Nathan Patterson.

Jackson went as far as grabbing Patterson's throat, leading to Pochettino and members of Chelsea's staff intervening to separate the players.

Despite the intensity of the incident, the FA examined the matter and determined that no further action was warranted
