Hayden Hackney secured the sole goal of the match, providing the Championship team with a narrow advantage. Despite several opportunities, especially for Cole Palmer, the Blues failed to capitalize.

At the end of the game, tensions escalated at the Riverside Stadium, with Chelsea players being loudly booed by their supporters as they approached to acknowledge them. Silva was observed having a verbal confrontation with a segment of the fans before exiting the field.

“Look, they have to go over. Of course, the fans are not going to be happy.

“But you always go to the fans and you have to make sure in the next game that you make things right,” former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said as he watched the incident unfold on Sky Sports.
