Chelsea demand £17m to offload key player

Chelsea football club will most definitely remain keen on trimming down their current squad in order to raise some funds before the end of the January transfer window.

The West London club splashed the cash to complete the signings of several first-team players including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Nicolas Jackson during the summer transfer window last year.

However, as a result of these many additions last year, Chelsea football club are very much aware of the need to offload some fringe players in order to balance the books.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Premier League side Chelsea football club are prepared to offload experienced goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a permanent deal this year.

The 29-year-old Spain International, who signed up for Chelsea football club after departing Athletic Bilbao back in 2018 has been in and out of the Chelsea first-team squad in recent seasons.

The experienced shot-stopper was hugely involved for Chelsea football club during the 2022/2023 season where he made a total of 39 appearances in all competitions.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was then sent out on loan to Real Madrid football club during the summer where he has been quite involved so far this ongoing 2023/2024 season, making 17 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea football club are currently monitoring his situation at Real Madrid and according to reports from Transfer News Live, the Blues are willing to cash in on Kepa Arrizabalaga on a permanent deal.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are really interested in offloading Kepa Arrizabalaga this year and have set an asking price of £17million on the experienced goalkeeper.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino does not view Kepa Arrizabalaga as an indispensable member of his first-team squad and he is willing to listen to transfer offers for the experienced shot-stopper.

But then, it remains to be seen if any top clubs in Europe will be interested in paying the demanded £17million transfer fee in order to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga on a permanent deal from Chelsea football club.
