Chelsea on £86m asking price to sign 25-year-old striker

Chelsea football club will look to take advantage and improve their chances of securing a top four finish on the Premier League table by signing some more players.

The West London club were very much active during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of several players including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Nicolas Jackson.

However, Chelsea football club have still struggled in the Premier League so far this season and are currently occupying the 8th position on the league table under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Due to this, Chelsea football club want a new striker and have been linked with a move for highly-rated Sporting CP centre-forward Viktor Gyokeres since the start of the transfer window.

The 25-year-old Sweden International, who joined Sporting CP after departing Coventry City football club last year has been an important member of the first-team squad since he made the move.

The experienced centre-forward has been hugely influential for Sporting CP so far this ongoing 2023/2024 season, scoring a total of 22 goals and providing 10 assists in the 25 matches he has played.

His impressive form in front of goal is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea football club but according to latest reports from Transfer News Live, the Blues are reluctant to sign him this month.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are really interested in Viktor Gyokeres but are not willing to pay Sporting CP asking price of £86million this month.

It is believed that Sporting CP are open to offloading Viktor Gyokeres in January but are not interested in accepting any transfer offer that is below their £86million valuation.

That said, it remains to be seen if Chelsea football club will restructure a deal and reach an agreement with Sporting CP to sign Viktor Gyokeres or they will assess other opportunities before the transfer window closes.
