The Score Nigeria learnt that July 1st, 2020 was the date slated for the summer transfer window to open, and that’s when Ziyech ‘s move is expected to be officially completed.
The Morocco international starred during the Dutch giants’ run to the Champions League semi-finals last season – where they were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in dramatic fashion – and had no shortage of suitors for his signature.
But it was the Blues who were quickest off the mark and reached an agreement with all parties over a £33.4m deal which is set to officially be completed when the summer transfer window opens.
Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper, Andre Onana has revealed that he is ready to leave the dutch champions in the summer.
This will come as a good news for Chelsea as they are ready to price the Cameroon international away from Ajax just like they did with his teammate Hakim Ziyech.
In an interview with Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, the former Barcelona goalkeeper claims he’s happy with Ajax but he feels it is time to take a step after spending five years at the club.
“Do not get me wrong, I am very happy with Ajax, and I am very grateful to the club,” Onana told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
“It was five great years here, but now my time has come to take a step. I do not yet know what will happen, but my ambitions and agreements are clear.”
Chelsea faces a strong competition from La Liga giants Barcelona who are also ready to bring back the 24-year-old shot-stopper.
“I really haven’t been serious about that for a second,” he told AD .
“I think my signature is under the contract and so yes, on July 1, I will be a Chelsea player. I never had any other thought.”
