UEFA has announced new resumption date for Champions league and Europa League as football set to begin in Europe.

Frank Lampard’s side suffered 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Bayern Munich in the Champions League first leg as UEFA has finally announced date for return to play in August in Allianz Arena.

Champions League and Europa League 2019/2020 season will continue activity in August 6, and 8, 2020 respectively.

UEFA Champions League will continue activity on August sixth while Europa Alliance resume or start on August eight 2020.

Preceding the suspension of football in most European Leagues because of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the UEFA Champions league was in its second round, the Round of 16 phase. A few matches in the Round of 16 were finished, including defending champions Liverpool’s end because of Atletico Madrid.

Notwithstanding, there were four ties that were uncompleted: Bayern Munich versus Chelsea, Manchester City versus Real Madrid, Juventus versus Olympique Lyon and Barcelona versus Napoli.

Uncertainties still exists as to whether the normal, two legged, home-and-away format can be continued considering the current global state, hence neutral venues may be adopted for the remaining games as from the Quarter finals.

The matches will be play behind closed doors, as fans aren’t expected to start attending games till further notice. European football’s governing body have optimistically indicated the Bay Arena game will be played on August 6 and the rest of the Europa League will be completed by the end of that month.
