Victor Osimhen crowned Lille player of the year

French Ligue 1 club Lille have crowned Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as their Player of the Year for the 2019/2020 season.

The Score Nigeria recalls that Osimhen who joined the Great Danes from Sporting Charleroi last year, was in incredible form in front of goal with a tally of 18 goals after 31 matches.

The Super Eagles forward was voted by the club’s fans after his leading Lille’s attack as the highest goal scorer.

Lille finished fourth as the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season was abruptly concluded in May due to the coronavirus pandemic that has left several European leagues on suspension.

Thanks to his individual brilliance in France, Osimhen has been been included in the Fifa 20 Ligue 1 Team of the Season alongside PSG superstars Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Mario.

The Nigeria international has also been nominated for the best African Player in Ligue 1 award which was named after Cameroon legend Marc Vivien-Foe prize.
