Barcelona appoints Ronald Koeman as new manager

Barcelona has appointed Netherlands head coach, Ronald Koeman, as the club’s new manager to replace Quique Setién after he was sacked by the club due to Champions League fallout against Bayern Munich.

The Dutch head coach has been named as Barca new manager after Quique Setién was sacked due to UEFA Champions League quarter-final 8-2 humiliating defeat against Bayern Munich

“❗ Quique Setién no longer first team coach.
The new coach will be announced in the coming days as part of a wide ranging restructuring of the first team.”

The Score Nigeria gathered, following a tweet by respected football journalist, Fabrizio Romani, that the former Barcelona defender will now take over the reins of management as the Blaugrana look to bounce back next season after losing the La Liga title to bitter rivals, Real Madrid and also being embarrassingly sent packing from the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich.

“Ronald Koeman has been choosen as new Barcelona manager. He’s going to leave Holland National team to join Barça – official statement on this week. Here we go”! Romani tweeted.

Koeman becomes Barcelona’s third managerial change this year, having already parted company with Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien.
