Sergio Aguero nets brace as Manchester City Lift Premier League Trophy

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero scored brace as City lift the Premier League trophy today after a 5-0 ruthless final win of the domestic season at home to Everton.

City won the Premier League three games ago, after proving themselves far ahead of the field in a difficult season. They will celebrate with 10,000 fans at the Etihad, in the first game since February 2020 that City supporters have been in place for a home game.

Sergio Aguero is fit enough for a place on the bench but Pep Guardiola has named one of the strongest teams available to him, with Kevin De Bruyne included in the starting line-up.

City took the lead early on through Kevin De Bruyne as Gabriel Jesus doubled the lead two minutes later. Ederson saved a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty before the break, and Phil Foden made it three after half time.

Then on came Aguero, who danced through the box to score on 70 minutes, before heading home a second to become the outright Premier League highest scorer for a single club, signing off a sensational career at the Etihad.

City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Fernandinho (C), Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden, Sterling, Jesus
