Ahead of Chelsea‘s visit to the Emirates on Tuesday, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called on fans to give former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a warm reception.
The striker who now plays for Chelsea was booed by Arsenal supporters during the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge last November after making comments in a TV commercial that were perceived as disrespectful.
Despite falling out of favour under Arteta towards the end of his Arsenal career, Aubameyang played a key role in the team’s FA Cup success in 2020, scoring crucial goals in both the semi-final and final.

“The perfect machine – that’s what we all want. Give me 24 of those. We are all looking for the perfect squad, and hopefully we can find it.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Manchester City in their last Premier League match.
