The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly, Bruno Satin, has claimed that his client has told him he doesn’t want to leave Chelsea.
He told Tutto Mercato Web that the 31-year-old is happy in London despite talk that he could be surplus to requirements in the coming transfer window.
Koulibaly joined the club last summer in an attempt to bring an experienced head to a position which was set to lose two key players.
Both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left on free transfers before the season began, and a player of his ability was required as a potential replacement for Thiago Silva when he retires.
It hasn’t been a seamless transition from Serie A however, with the Senegal international notably struggling on multiple occasions this season.
Koulibaly wants to stay
Injury has seemingly ruled him out for the rest of the campaign, and some had believed he may have played for the club for the last time.
However, Satin has claimed that the defender remains happy in London and with the challenge at Chelsea.

He said: “He spent many years in Naples, he had a great bond with the city. He won’t be able to forget the many years in the blue, unfortunately he didn’t win the Scudetto which is coming now.
“It seems that at Chelsea we want to change a lot… he told me that he’s fine in London. I no longer manage his interests, but many young players have signed, it could be that they want to make a generational change. Even if starting from scratch is always complicated”.
The defence will have the return of Levi Colwill to manage next season after his exciting loan spell with Brighton, while the majority of supporters will be happier with his prospects than Koulibaly’s.
