Chelsea in race to sign Serie A talented centre-back

Chelsea are in the picture to sign Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno, according to multiple reports from Italy.

Chelsea in race to sign Serie A talented centre-back

The centre-back has managed two goals and one assist from 15 games this season and his form for the Serie A side has clearly not gone unnoticed.

Torino Granata mention Chelsea in a report that explains AS Roma’s intention to try to secure his services.

It’s explained that ‘not only Chelsea’ but José Mourinho’s side are also thinking about the defender. His deal lasts until 2028 and the report states Torino chairman Urbano Cairo values him at €40m.

Roma have a ‘delicate budget’ but if they qualify for the Champions League next season and their owners could make funds available for transfer, they could have a chance to sign the 24-year-old.

The Giallorossi aren’t alone as Juventus are another Italian club after Buongiorno. That’s according to Tutto Juve, who state the Turin club or any other Serie A side would struggle to acquire the player’s signature.

That’s because Tutto Juve Torino would only sell the Italy international to a foreign club and even add that Chelsea could be the ‘most likely destination’ for him.

In other words, Torino could be in favour of selling Buongiorno to the Blues for a starting price of €40m.
