 CAF has increased their prize money for this year AFCON tournament at Ivory Coast as the winner will badges $7 million.

The Confederations of Africa Football (CAF) has announced that the AFCON 2023 tournament will get increase in prize money from the quarterfinalists to the final of the tournament at Ivory Coast commencing on 13th January 2024.


The Score Nigeria reports that AFCON Prize Money reviewed by CAF body ranging from the quarter-final to the final of the competition. 


The AFCON 2023 winner will receive $7 million as the runner up goes home with $4 million. 


The semifinalists get $2.5 million while the quarterfinalists goes home with $1.3 million.

The CAF body initially given the winner of Africa cup of Nations $1.5 million in 2013 which was won by the Super Eagles and 2015 as they later increased the prize money to $4 million in 2017 and $4.5 million in 2019.

The current champions, Senegal received $5 million as grand prize for winning the AFCON 2021 tournament but the 2023 AFCON tournament grand prize is so huge that any team will fight hard to be crown the winner.


CAF has increased the grand prize of the AFCON winner from $5 million to 7 million dollars for the 2023 tournament.
