Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino finally gives blues star a chance

One Chelsea player could soon be given the chance to save his Stamford Bridge career.

Trevoh Chalobah has not played a game for Chelsea this season and was being heavily linked with a move away from west London last month.

However, according to HITC, the central defender will be reintegrated into the first team and given an opportunity to impress manager Mauricio Pochettino.

While Chalobah’s absence has been because of injury, he went into the campaign in danger of being a peripheral figure.

In the summer transfer window, Chelsea bought Axel Disasi, adding to a squad that already possessed Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana for the centre-back position.

Trevoh Chalobah to get first-team chance

While Chalobah is still at the club, it makes sense for Pochettino to utilise him.

The 24-year-old can play in central defence and at right-back, the latter a position where Chelsea have had a lot of problems this season.

Reece James and Malo Gusto have both picked up injuries and suspensions, with the England international currently sidelined.

Ultimately, we think Chalobah can still be a very useful player for Chelsea for what is left of the campaign.

However, you can still see him leaving in the summer, especially if the Blues go on to bring in another defender.

The above looks like a real possibility, with Sporting Lisbon’s Ousmane Diomande reportedly a top target for the club.

There is a while to go until the next transfer window opens, though, and Chalobah can give the decision-makers at Stamford Bridge something to seriously think about if he really takes any opportunity given to him.

And with Chelsea having picked up so many injuries and suspensions this term, including in the full-back positions, who knows? He might just get some before this campaign finishes.
