Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has said there is no chance Chelsea target Ivan Toney will make a late Deadline Day move away from the club.
England striker Toney has been linked with Premier League rivals such as Arsenal and CHELSEA in the January window as both London clubs have been keen to add to their squad.
However – the financial fair play rules has meant that only £50 million has been spent on players this transfer window – and Chelsea have been unable to get any deal done that would improve their side.
The 27-year-old has scored 34 goals in 68 top-flight games for the Bees and there has been some late talk that Chelsea could swoop in and try to get a deal done before the deadline closes.
However – Frank insists Toney will stay put after a month of speculation.
Chelsea have made a mistake in not getting any business done this transfer window – they needed to sign a new striker and Toney would have been brilliant.
But we can see why no deals have been done – but Chelsea will definitley need to delve into that transfer kitty in the summer window and sign a forward that has the ability to score goals.
Toney will once again be a player that the club are linked with – and as you can see by his goal-scoring record with Brentford – he is a player that is ready to make that next step to a big club like CHELSEA.
