Chelsea beat Arsenal in signing goal machine, Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting CP, tied the score with Porto in the last moments of play by scoring twice in one minute.

Evanilson and Pepe Aquino’s goals in the first half of Porto’s match against league leaders Sporting gave them a strong start. Despite not starting the game, Gyokeres entered at halftime and did not have any impact on the score until the 86th minute of play, when he scored twice in a span of 60 seconds with fellow replacements Nuno Santos and Marcus Edwards. A 2-2 draw at the end of the game moved Sporting one step closer to winning the Liga NOS.

The draw was not exactly what Sporting would’ve hoped for as they look to confirm their league title victory over Benfica, who now sit just five points off the Leones. However, given the context of the match, they will be glad to have walked away with a point as Porto dominated the proceedings and could even have gone into half-time with a three-goal lead.

Gyokeres has been a top target for Chelsea and Arsenal this season, and after scoring two goals, he also scored his 40th goal of the campaign, which will pique the interest of the two London teams even more. He is apparently valued by the soon-to-be Portuguese champions at €100 million (£85.5m/107.1m).

The Swedish striker will be back in action on Saturday, May 4, as Sporting looks to defeat Portimonense to clinch the league title.
