Eric Dier claims that Chelsea target is the best player in the world now

One reported Chelsea target has left Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier absolutely stunned.

He is being linked with a move to Chelsea as the Blues consider bringing in new attackers.

Up front, they are a bit light, with Nicolas Jackson being the only recognised centre-forward in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad right now.

Further back, the positions behind the striker, Pochettino does have options. Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher can both occupy the No.10 role, for example.

Nevertheless, that has not stopped Chelsea from looking at other attackers.

Eric Dier stunned by reported Chelsea target

Gallagher, albeit a central midfielder, has mostly played as a No.10 this season.

However, his contract expires in 2025, so Chelsea could sell the Englishman in the next transfer window so that they do not lose him for nothing next year.

According to Sport Bild, Chelsea have Jamal Musiala on their radar and could make a real push to sign the attacking midfielder if he does not extend his own deal at the Allianz Arena.

For Dier, he is the “best talent” he has ever seen.

Speaking on the FC Bayern Podcast, the England international said: “I knew about Jamal, but to see him up close and to play on the same team as him, he’s the best talent I’ve ever seen I think, what surprised me the most is his physicality.

“It surprised me how fast, how agile and how strong he is. Pair that with his technical ability, which as an offensive player is the icing, and his talent is undeniable.”

Why Jamal Musiala is one of the best talents in the world right now

Musiala is a young player with so much ability and potential. Despite being 21 years of age, he is already quite a mature attacker.

This season, the Germany star has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances. He already has an end product.

Over the last year, Musiala has also ranked in the 99th percentile for successful take-ons among attacking midfielders and wingers, completing 4.27 per 90 minutes (FBref).

If Chelsea can get him, then they have to.
