Everton star, Alex Iwobi reveals what Jay-Jay Okocha told him

Everton and Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi revealed what Nigeria legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha told him about how to invest his money.

In a world where many top Footballers declare bankruptcy after retirement should persuade the still active ones to prudently manage their earnings.

Many top players declare financial stress a few years after retirement and that is largely due to excessive lifestyle and unnecessary luxury which they are not able to sustain.

The life span of a footballer is short – like 10 years at the top and few more years in obscure leagues – and calls for adequate investment while the pay cheques are still guaranteed.

In order to avoid the mistakes some made, it is advisable to get sound and proper financial advice on investing and that is exactly what Nigerian International and Everton star, Alex Iwobi is getting.

Soccer players need all the financial advice they can get to prepare them for life after the round leather game and Iwobi has disclosed that he is getting such needed advice from his uncle, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, the legendary former Nigeria International.

“Yeah! he made a big impact in my life and he still does till this day, obviously when I was younger he was helping me football wise but now he just advises me on what to do outside of football on how to invest my Money, he will always be a role model” he told Soccer Bible on Instagram.

He spoke on a wide range of issues on the Instagram Q&A.

On his 24th Birthday, he said: “It was spent in isolation, regardless it was still lit you know, me my Mom, Dad and my Sister, we just had a vibe in the house, some cheese and good food”

He also named his favorite Nigerian music artiste.

“Wizkid for me still, big fan, big fan” he said with one of Wizkid’s song playing under his voice.

On whether he will marry a Nigerian woman when he decides to settle down, ‘Naija Boy’ as he is called sometimes said while laughing:

“For me if you are a Nigerian or any other race as long as i like you then it is what it is, that’s a funny one.”

He also offered advise of his own to his fellow Youths:

“Never be afraid to express yourself, be patient as a lot of time it will come in life, in football or in whatever you do”
