LIV 4-1 CHE: Chelsea denied penalty in heavy lost at Anfield

Chelsea have suffered another defeat today as Liverpool claimed an emphatic win over them at Anfield. However, here are the two penalties Chelsea should have been awarded today:

1. Virgil van Dijk's foul on Gallagher

The Liverpool defender brought down Gallagher in the penalty box in the first half before Liverpool got their goals. A replay of the tackle shows that there was a contact of van Dijk's knee and arm on Gallagher which should have resulted in a penalty.

Luckily for Liverpool, they got away with it and went on to smash Chelsea to win the game.

2. Virgil van Dijk's foul on Nkunku

After Nkunku's goal in the second half, the Chelsea striker had another opportunity when he tried to control the ball in the penalty box but van Dijk brushed him from behind. This should have resulted in a penalty as well for Chelsea but the Referee and VAR didn't bother to recheck it.

Nevertheless, the deed has been done and Chelsea now needs to focus on getting back to winning ways in their next match.
